On Aug. 22, 2015, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Belize City were happy to welcome three life giving young women to a one day vocation retreat. The theme for the retreat was “Steps on the journey.” The women had time to look back and reflect on their past experiences and journal about it, keeping in mind their feelings as they reflected. Their present life situations were also examined in a unique way. They got to shop at “Our Sisters Closet” picking out a shoe that they feel symbolizes where they are at this point in their lives. Time was spent for reflection and journalling. The third part of the retreat focused on the future. The question “What will you do with your one wild and precious life?,” was posed to the young women. The Belize story of the SCNs was then shared and Sister Carlette Gentle shared her personal vocation story. These all led up to looking at future possibilities of how the young womens’ future can possibly include the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. The women shared deeply and enjoyed the day of quiet reflection, journaling, and sharing.
