Virginia Ann Lachenmann, SCN, 96, a native of Covington, Ky., died at Nazareth Motherhouse, Nazareth, Ky. on July 24, 2014. She had been a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 76 years.

Sister served in elementary education in Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee for 31 years. In Louisville Sister Virginia served at St. Philip Neri School as teacher and later as principal. She also served as principal of St. Patrick and St. Cecilia Schools. Sister served in child care at St. Thomas-St. Vincent Home and later served in community service, health care and the housing ministry in Kentucky, Massachusetts and Arkansas.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, and her religious community.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, in St. Vincent Church, Nazareth at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial in Nazareth Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. in St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, Ky., on Monday, July 28, 2014. There will be a Prayer Service in St. Vincent Church at 6:30 p.m. Monday evening.
