Sophomore guard Brenna Wise scored a team-high 16 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and had four blocked shots to lead Vincentian Academy to a 45-40 victory over Bishop Guilfoyle on Tuesday in a PIAA Class A semifinal game at Indiana High School.

Senior Abbey Bartoszewicz chipped in with 14 points, 10 rebounds and four steals.

“I’m very proud of the girls for how hard we worked all year,” Vincentian coach Ron Moncrief said. “We had three goals we wanted this year, being the section title, WPIAL title and this was our third team goal this year.”

Vincentian (29-1) will play District 11 champion Tri-Valley (27-3) in the championship game at noon Saturday at Giant Center in Hershey.

“If you’re still playing at this time of the year, you still have to be a good team,” Moncrief said of Vincentian’s opponent. “I’ll sit down tomorrow and do my research and get ready for Tri-Valley on Friday.”
