The seventh SCN inter-school cultural meet was held on Jan. 12, 2019, in Nazareth Convent High School Vasai. The welcoming ceremony depicting the culture of Vasai set an amazing tone to the meet. It was followed by a variety of cultural events to welcome and entertain the teams that had traveled a long way to participate in the meet.
The inter-school competitions included, a debate on the theme ‘conservation and development cannot go hand in hand’, duet singing and folk dance. Congratulations to our education coordinator Sister Elizabeth Jaya Rani who left no stone unturned to make the event a mega one. The hospitality of the Vasai community and the entire Nazareth family was praiseworthy. Eminent judges for each event turned out to be an honor for the participants as well. The host school of Nazareth School, Vasai, bagged the overall championship. A noteworthy experience was that no child returned without a trophy or a participating certificate. The day’s programme concluded with a family meal which included both the primary and the secondary staff along with the participating teams.
The teams from the Southern region of India were treated to a Mumbai Visit organized by Sister Vijaya Chalil. The students were extremely grateful for their exciting experiences of the day.
The inter-school competition was not just a platform of competition but a learning experience, an opportunity for interaction as well as to widen one’s horizon. And finally, we thank God for the protection and safety all of us experienced throughout our travels.
