Theology and ministry program

On April 9, Sisters celebrated the first commissioning of the Diocesan Pastoral Teams by the Apostolic Nuncio who was in Belize. It was also the “graduation” (completion of the program) for 31 teachers and 19 lay ministers who attended the year-long program of theology and ministry. This represents the work of many people (mostly LIMEX graduates) but is a part of Sister Maggie Cooper’s Diocesan ministry. They rejoiced that four SCNAs completed their advanced certificate. The Christian Herald has the story and some pictures.

31 teachers and 19 lay ministers received certificates of completion of a special theology and ministry program offered by the
diocese for all teachers and lay ministers. Maggie Cooper, SCN, coordinator of ministries, presents a certificate to one of the
participants. Bishop Christopher Glancy,
CSV, and Archbishop Leon Kalenga, Papal
Nuncio, is seated in the background.

On April 16, 45 teachers completed the same program that prepares teachers for their role of teaching religion in Catholic schools, an extension of the SCN story because Sister Chris Kunze is the facilitator of one of these groups and Sister Barbara Flores gave the homily at this event.
