The Feast of the Annunciation, March 25, will mark the 100th anniversary of a momentous occasion. On this day in 1911, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth were allowed to make perpetual vows for the first time. This privilege was provided by the new Constitutions, approved by Rome, when we became a Papal Congregation. Up until that time, the Sisters made vows annually and longed for this opportunity. In this year of 2011, on March 25, the Sisters at the Motherhouse at Nazareth will renew their vows at Mass, joining our hearts with those of our Sisters a century ago.
