teresarosenabholz-eee064d02924da50fd3b67615740df07Teresa Rose Nabholz, SCN, 85, formerly Sister Marita Ann Nabholz, a native of Conway, Arkansas, died at Carrico Hall, Nazareth, Kentucky on Thursday, February 11, 2016. She had been a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 62 years.

Sister Teresa Rose served in the United States, India and Belize. Sister’s first assignment after religious profession was at St. Joseph School in Bardstown, Kentucky. as a teacher of third grade from March until August 1954. Sister received her BSN at St. Joseph Infirmary in Louisville and served there from 1954-61 when she was assigned to Nazareth Hospital in Mokama, India. Sister Teresa Rose became the first SCN Provincial appointed to serve in India. In 1994, Sister spent a six months’ Sabbatical at Weston School of Theology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Sister served in Belize from 2002-2009. Sister then returned to the United States and served in the Office of Congregational Advancement from 2009-2014.

Survivors include three sisters, Emily Nabholz, SCN, of Nazareth, Kentucky; Elizabeth Nabholz, SSND, of Chatawa, Mississippi; and Elinor Nabholz Rohlman of Morrilton, Arkansas; two brothers, Tom and Charles Nabholz, both of Conway, Arkansas; and her religious community.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, in St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, Kentucky at 10:30 a.m. Sister’s body has been donated for medical research. There will be a Prayer Service in St. Vincent Church at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, February 16, 2016.
