Sts. Peter and Paul Regional Catholic School in Lexington, Kentucky, raised over $800 for the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth’s volunteer mission work. Julie Kelley from the school shares the following:
Thanks again for taking your time to come and share your important work with our students. The kindergarten students went to 17 classrooms and trick or treated for money for your mission work. I am happy to report that we will be sending you a check for $885.92. That was a LOT of change. We had $50 in paper money and the rest in pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. Thankful that the bank has a counting machine. My husband and I delivered it and we had to parcel it out into a number of containers because we couldn’t carry it!!! SO HEAVY! It was a fun project for us.

Sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, we invite lay women and men to a cross-cultural partnership with people, especially the oppressed, economically poor and marginalized, primarily in the areas in which Sisters, Associates and/or members of the Sisters of Charity Federation are called to mission.
Bless the generous children and the adults who led the trick or treating and then carried the weighty offering to the bank and made such a good story about it! Thanks from all of us SCNx!

We know many positive changes begin with small steps or actions
and this is one such action. We know change often start with one
small action and it tells us what is possible if we believe what
we decide is possible and necessary.
Thank you young ones for challenging us to take actions to help
others.

What a great way to celebrate Halloween, not with candy for self, but funds for the needy. Thanks to both teachers and students for their creative and generous efforts.
