Sisters in Pittsburgh have welcomed their first families onto campus to utilize the Stone House as temporary housing! The Honduran families will be with the Sisters until mid July. At that time another family will be coming to take up residence in the house for 3 months. Linda Soltis, SCN, and others are collaborating with non-profit organizations as well as with the Sisters of Divine Providence who have a shelter on the border of Mexico and the U.S. The group is also working with Casa San Jose to assist the refugees.
You are a great gift to these families. Thank you for sharing your Stone House and providing a safe welcoming space for those with great need. It is good to see the smiles and joy in the photo.
Thanks so much, Sisters, for your welcoming hospitality. A check will be on the way soon from the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill to help support your work.
Sr. Colette Hanlon, S.C.
