The “Under 55” Sisters of Charity of Nazareth of Mokama campus had a wonderful get-together at Nazareth Convent, Mokama, guided by Sister Sangeeta Ayithamattam, SCN president, on Feb. 8, 2021. During the ice-break, each one was invited to pick up a coin of different years and share a significant event of that year of their life. Recalling the past and sharing it with the group was indeed a rich experience. All were enthusiastic and eager to listen to each other. Sister Sangeeta led the group in prayer with a story, ‘Maybe’. The story had many inspiring sentences and phrases with powerful messages, which led us to enter into a contemplative sharing and listening. These reflective points helped us to interconnect our experiences with the present-day realities, hopes, and dreams of our SCN community and the world. Each one was moved to face the challenges, finding new hope in our lives individually, communally, and the world.
We were once again reminded of our General Assembly 2018 theme “Deepening Oneness in Christ with Hope for Joyful Commitment” during the lockdown period. Deepening our faith, hope, and love for God, one another in community and the suffering world are also our hopes and dreams today. The energy that sustains us comes from God alone and moves us passionately towards our future which is totally unknown and uncertain. We do what we do because we love God.
Sister Sangeeta, we are immensely grateful to you for energizing us with your valuable presence, love, and a listening heart. We truly appreciate the fruitful time we had with you. Thank you very much for motivating us to look at life anew and helping us to move forward with vitality and passion for mission.
