The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth gave blessings upon Sister Brenda Gonzales and Sister Rosemarie Kirwan as they prepared to leave for the US/Mexico border in McAllen, Texas, at the Humanitarian Respite Center.

May they go in the spirit of Catherine Spalding as the warmth and Spirit of God’s presence sustain them entering into the holy ground of this experience, into the lives of people whose lives are in crises. May the strength of God’s love sustain them. We pray for safe travels for them, good health, energy and joy in God’s service.

In McAllen they will work to welcome and provide opportunities for refugees to refresh, to be nourished, to rest, to play, to heal; in cooperation with the community, local civil authorities and law enforcement.

Let's stay in touch.
