Sisters in San Antonio, Belize, assisted the youth coordinator there in facilitating a three day retreat in two different locations of the Toledo District. Approximately 150 youth attended the retreat from surrounding villages.

The retreat provides the opportunity for youth to gather for faith formation, sharing, and a fun time together. They choose to learn to play marimba, guitar, keyboard, or sing Mayan songs. About twice a month the youth gather for lessons that are facilitated by volunteer teachers. The hope is to continue with these lessons until the youths are able to skillfully play the instrument or sing.

This is the second year that this retreat opportunity has been offered to the youth with the hope of continuing to nurture their faith journey.
