Valerie Miller, SCN, spent two weeks in June serving a variety of groups at Camp Maria Retreat Center and a nearby treatment center. Sister Valerie used drums, turtle shells, shakers, and rain sticks to create music as a form of therapy and meditation. “I used Pachelbel’s Canon to start and that calms everyone down. I talked about the instruments, the drum and how it can free your spirit,” Sister Valerie said. She worked with a grief support group, a group of men and women in drug treatment programs, a Veterans group, and the Camp Crazy Faith group.
