Sister Sarah Geier in Botswana
Sister Sarah left on Dec 18 for Botswana to be with Sister Vinaya. She went to Metsimotlhabe while Sister Sunila, SCN is on a home visit in India.
The Sisters in Pittsburgh had a blessing prayer at Mass the day before she left. She will return on March 10.
Sister Sarah writes:
“I arrived here December 20th minus my suitcase…it was totally destroyed in Atlanta. Some things were missing, some ruined, all covered with some black something that mostly washed out but not totally. Of course this happened to the brand new things, not the older ones! But I am fine, thoroughly enjoying being here. The people are so dear. Vinaya is such a good and compassionate person at the hospice and a wonderful companion to me.
All the sisters have come together 3 times, taking turns at the 3 houses. A local man was ordained so we gathered in Kanye for a Mass at the convent. At that time I discovered that he was taught by one of the priests that I was on sabbatical with! We gathered on Christmas afternoon at Lobaste and on the 30th at our house in Metsimotlhabe for a day of renewal. I was invited to facilitate that."
