Sister Margaret Rodericks gave a mission appeal this past weekend at St. Therese parish in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was pleasantly surprised to see the marquee at the entrance of the church welcoming her. “In all the years that I’ve done mission appeals, this is first ever time I have seen my name on the marquee!” she said.

Sister Margaret’s goal in her mission appeal is mission education and then inviting parishioners to be co-missionaries with the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. Some are called by prayer, some by sharing their monetary gifts to further our ministries, and some are called to volunteer in the missions or become members/Associates.

She explained how the mission statement is lived today and that Mother Catherine Spalding is indeed alive and well in places where Sisters serve. She used the opportunity to inform the parish in which countries SCNs serve, what is done, and how Sisters respond to the needs of the time and continue to be pioneers.
