Congratulations to 2017 Memphis Catholic Hall of Fame inductee Laurine Dichtel, SCN!

The Memphis Catholic High School Hall of Fame, initiated in 2011, honors graduates, teachers, and notable supporters. The Hall of Fame recognizes individuals associated with Catholic High in all its iterations, including the original coed Catholic High (1922-1945), Catholic High School for Boys (1945-1970), the merged “heritage” schools of Sacred Heart and Father Bertrand (1970), and the current Memphis Catholic High School.

Sister Laurine was a teacher of English to students at SHHS and MCHS for many years. Her commitment to quality education will be noted by every student that passed through her classes. She had the ability to bring out the best in each student by concentrating on the needs of the individual. After retiring from teaching, Sister Laurine continued in ministry by bringing the alumni of our various heritage schools together. She was a faithful communicator of news regarding the alums.

Kay Winfield, SCN, (MCHS ’74) nominated Sister Laurine for this award saying, “As I visited her today at Nazareth Home, in Louisville, I recalled how important she was in so many ways to MCHS. I offer this nomination to the Hall of Fame as my tribute to her as an educator, a Sister, and a friend.”
