Each month, the SCN Center gathers for breakfast or lunch to spend time together in fellowship. Today would have been our monthly gathering. Rather than cancel, we were able to come together through Zoom and share around our new realities. It was a joyful time for us that we plan to continue weekly until we’re back together as an SCN Center family. I forgot to get a picture of us all on Zoom but I do have a picture of the fresh flowers that my mother picked so we would have flowers at our meeting. They are a nice reminder in these difficult times of the beauty that surrounds us. We are attaching our prayer as well.
The prayer they shared
Loving God, you have shown Your power and caring by healing people of all ages and stations of life from physical, mental, and spiritual ailments. Be present now to people who need Your loving touch because of COVID-19. May they feel Your power of healing through the care of doctors and nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Loving God, take away the fear, anxiety, and feelings of isolation from people receiving treatment or under quarantine. Give them a sense of purpose in pursuing health and protecting others from exposure to the disease. Protect their families and friends and bring peace to all who love them.
Loving God, we lift to You our concern for people who are more likely than others to become severely ill — the elderly and people with chronic health conditions. Protect them from harm and be their comfort in this time of uncertainty and, for many, preventive isolation from loved ones.
Loving God, healthcare workers and first responders, cleaning and maintenance staff, food service, grocery store, and factory workers and all those who are working in life-sustaining jobs are working longer hours with fewer supplies. Renew their energy and sustain them on long shifts. Bring Your protection upon them.
Loving God, as families adjust to everyone being home and as businesses and schools close, we ask that You guide people in their new realities. Give spouses grace for each other and prompt worn-out parents to speak words of kindness and encouragement to their children.
Loving God, give comfort to those who have lost a loved one. Welcome those who have died into your loving home.
Loving God, as we gather today we are grateful for this time together. Please protect and comfort our SCN Center family and surround them with your loving care and peace.
