Sending Forth Sister Nisha Chemmanam to Botswana

The Sisters in Nazareth Convent, Chandapura gathered for a commissioning prayer service on Dec. 4, 2016, as Sister Nisha moves to be a missionary in Botswana. The presence of Holy Spirit was felt intensely as all were moved to tears bidding farewell to Sister Nisha. She was welcomed for the prayer service with the traditional aarti, anointing with tike and garland. Sister Ann Palatty anointed Sister Nisha with the oil on her forehead, ears, lips, hands and feet to symbolically seek God’s guidance on her new venture. Sister Anima Pulukiyil prayed a blessing prayer for Sister Nisha while the whole community stood up with alms outstretched in blessing. Adieu Sister Nisha. May God be your companion on your journey.
