On Friday, January 24, the SCN volunteers from St John’s Hollywood, Maryland gathered for the final time to conclude their mission trip with a house blessing ceremony to present Ms. Delvorine her new house keys. The volunteers worked tirelessly to complete the home in 4 days alongside the talented construction managers from Hand in Hand Ministries, Ms. Delvorine herself and other community members who came out to join the group effort. The ceremony marked the culmination of over a year’s worth of planning and fundraising by the generous members of St. John’s Hollywood parish. Amidst the prayers, music, hugs and goodbyes, the team reflected on what it means to answer the call to mission as Christ’s love impels us to do for all people. A big thank you to the people of St. John’s Hollywood who made this mission trip possible; serving as ambassadors for the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth and also offering a new beginning for Ms. Delvorine and her two sons in their new home.

The team returned to Kentucky late on Sunday, January 26th, before beginning the drive back to Hollywood, MD on Monday.

Safe travels to everyone!
