SCNs Anne Magruder, Molly Thompson, Brenda Gonzales, Luke Boiarski and Paula Merrill arrived safely in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday, Nov.16 after a long eleven hour drive. They were graciously greeted at the House of Charity where we are staying.

On Monday morning, Sisters from various communities and other volunteers gathered at St. Bernard’s project for the Nun Build orientation.

They are working hard preparing a home for Ms. Linda Winfrey. She worked for LSU School of Medicine as an administrative assistant for 20 years before Katrina. She made a home on Third St. where she raised her family.

Ms. Linda and her daughter evacuated to Natchez, Mississippi, then settled in Dallas, Texas, for a year until she returned to her roots in New Orleans. Ms. Linda is eager to get back to her home, so she can better serve her community and provide a home for her family to return to.

All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.
