SCNs, along with over 5,000 others in Louisville,
participated in the “Rally for American Values” outside the Muhammad
Ali Center on Monday in response to the President’s executive order preventing
select refugees from entering the U.S. The rally was held, as Louisville Mayor Greg
Fischer said, “to voice support for our nation and our city, which was
founded and is strengthened by immigrants.” Catholic Charities of
Louisville and Kentucky Refugee Ministries have settled 1,400 in Louisville in
2016 alone. Since 1993, a total of 18,822 refugees have resettled in Louisville
creating a more vibrant, multicultural, and compassionate city.
