Four SCNA candidates Anjani Kumari, Ashok Kumar, Joseph Rajendra and Nirmala Virendra made their First Commitment for one year as SCNAs during the morning Eucharistic celebration at Mokama chapel on Sept. 27, 2017, the auspicious feast day of St. Vincent de Paul. Many of the parishioners, family members, campus SCNs, novices, and candidates witnessed their commitment.

Jane Karakunnel, SCN, had initiated the SCNA program in Mokama two years ago. Olive Pinto, SCN, continued the SCNA formation program after Jane left for her new mission in Patna. Sister Olive journeyed with Anjani, Ashok, Joseph, and Nirmala very closely and prepared them to be SCNAs. In the spirit of our founders, Bishop David and Mother Catherine Spalding, time to time, they were guided through prayer and reflection. They also had inputs on SCN Charism, spirituality and mission, Church Documents, conscience formation and liturgy.

We were blessed to have three priests of the Mokama parish and Reverend Nandu who is the son of the Mokama soil added much joy to our celebration. The newly committed SCNA and their family members were invited to a breakfast soon after the liturgy.

Sister Olive announced that Pushpa Tudu and Sarita Xalxo have expressed their desire to become SCNA candidates.
