SCN schools celebrate cultural and quiz fiesta
The fourth SCN inter-school cultural festival was held on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at Nazareth School, Banakal, Karnataka. The highlight of the ‘festival of talents’ was that apart from being a platform for students from SCN schools to showcase their skills in various fields, from music, dance to quizzing, it also served as a ground to foster camaraderie among students from different cultures and backgrounds. As one of the judges rightly put it, she saw the spirit of India among the participants. The Chief guest, Mr. Surendra Singh Rajput, the Principal of Amber Valley International School, Chikmagaluru, hailed the yeomen service of Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in the field of education. Amrita Manjaly, SCN, the education coordinator who along with the principal of the host school Blanche Correia, SCN, organized the event encouraged all the educators to “nurture talent.” Accompanied by their staff, around 55 Students from the five SCN schools of Bangalore Province participated. The exposure of the students to the relationship of work and sacrifice in order to achieve, the experience of joy of winning and disappointment of losing, while learning to accept both with grace and good will during this one-day competition augurs well for the young minds. Students showcased their skills, dancing to the tune of patriotic songs, rendition of classical vocal, and finally were tested intellectually on various topics of current affairs and academics. Nazareth School, Vasai bagged the winners cup while the runners cup went to the host school. See more pictures of the festivities.
