A three-day Ward Level Science Exhibition with the theme “Science & Mathematics for the Sustainable World,” was hosted by Rosary High School November 19-21, 2014. SCN Vijaya Chalil, Principal of Rosary High School, and the school staff and students welcomed young enthusiastic participants from different parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan. There were over 160 participatory exhibits that included innovative working models and investigation based projects.The program was inaugurated by Dr.Ravindra Shisve, DCP Greater Mumbai, Mr. Suryavanshi from the Education Department, and a dignitary of Rosary Management Father Fran Frenandes. All were very impressed by the presentations and congratulated the participants. The exhibits by the different schools were eye openers in various categories related to Green Energy – Innovation in Transport, Communication, Agriculture, Technology, Biodiversity, Health, Environment, and Mathematical Modeling. With an endeavor to promote scientific attitude among budding young students, this exhibition was one of a kind. As the host team, Rosary High School students participated only for the spirit of participation, sharing and learning, and not with competing in mind. Participants and observers came from many areas, including students from schools in South Mumbai. All the participants were presented with certificates and mementos. The students of the host school also shared a rich cultural program with the audience. The best exhibits from this exhibition now move on to the National Level. The dignitaries applaud the students for their innovative ideas which will help the world to become a much better place. Principal Vijaya thanked all the participating teams for making this event a success and expressed gratitude for the amazing projects. She also summed up the true essence of the exhibition. “Science gives us tools of immense power and as with any other form of power, the misuse is always a possibility. It therefore, becomes incumbent on us to become judicious and use these wonders with utmost care.”
