Sister Nancy Gerth and Sister Chris Kunze attended Refugee and Immigrant Day at the Capitol in Frankfort, Kentucky. This was the 6th year for the rally to be held. The Sisters went to show support for immigrants and refugees and for Mirna. She was one of the main speakers and is a friend of the Sisters.

The event highlights the importance to elected officials on all levels to be educated about immigration and the refugee resettlement program, as well as the contributions refugees and immigrants make to the state. It also serves as a civic engagement opportunity for all Kentuckians, including newcomers, to learn how to participate in democracy.

Let's stay in touch.
