Sisters in Surkhet shared their residence with a victim of domestic violence. The woman who was an ex-trainee of Navjyoti Center appeared at the Sisters’ residence in the early morning with blood flowing from her arm. She had tried to commit suicide by cutting her arm. Though her family was called and discussions were held they could not be reconciled. A case was registered against her husband and she could not find shelter anywhere neither was she safe in her home. She stayed with the Sisters until her maternal family in Dailekh District was contacted and given the responsibility to look after her while she was undergoing medical treatment. She is confident that she can earn her own living as she has skills training and a tailoring machine provided by Navjyoti Center.
