For the fourth consecutive year, members of the Presentation Academy Mission Club, a group of students and adults, participated in an alternative spring break with a four-day mission trip to Appalachia.
They spent most of their time in Auxier, Ky., about 20 miles from Prestonsburg.
The projects they worked on included building two handicapped accessible ramps, restoring a kitchen floor and restoring two bathrooms for two different families. To participate in the trip, each student was required to raise $225. The money helped cover the cost of building materials used for the construction. Hand in Hand Ministries helped organize the trip.
The 18 Presentation students on the trip were senior Margaret Senn; juniors Emily Domhoff, Hannah McClain, Maggie Riddick, Celine Seger and Sylvia Witt; sophomores Shelby Burnett, Anna Cowley, Meredith Degner, Erin Evans, Courtney Jent, Kelly Schneider, Izzy Sherman and Olivia Wagner; and freshmen Morgen Combs, Virginia Kuchenbrod, Maggie Sullivan and Sarah Zoeller.
Four Presentation parents traveled with them: John Riddick, David Seger, Gerard Senn and James Witt. The group was led by Presentation teachers Jamie Beach, Debbie Hall and Gary Householder, and Presentation Board of Trustee members Mary Gene Frank and Sister Maria Vincent Brocato, SCN.
