Aug. 29:

A woman cries near the remains of her house after it was burned by rioters in Kharabari Charak Math, India.

One person was killed by unknown assailants and five houses were burned down after members of the All Assam Minority Students Union, who were rallying in Assam state, clashed with local youths.

At least 80 people were killed and 400,000 have been displaced over the last few weeks in clashes between ethnic Bodo people and Muslims in the state. It’s the state’s worst spate of violence since the mid-1990s.
