On the annual feast of ‘Our Lady of Divine Grace’ Mokama, thousands of people from all walks of life and religious affiliation thronged to the Shrine on Feb.4, 2018. From 6.00 am to 4.00 pm four Masses were offered for people to participate according to their convenience. A large crowd attended the healing Mass with an exposition of Blessed Sacrament from 9.00 to 12.00 noon. The main celebrant, Rev. John Bosco, a renowned exorcist, from Indore diocese led the prayer and blessed the people and the whole area with holy water.
At noon, the priests and the faithful took out the procession with three statues of Mother Mary from Shrine via convent road, parish and back to the shrine. At 1.00 pm, Rev. Prem Prakash, vicar general of Archdiocese concelebrated the main Eucharist with over twenty priests.
Confessionals were set up from Saturday onwards and many priests were available for people to receive the sacrament of reconciliation.
People from Ranchi and Calcutta archdioceses, Varnasi and from all five suffragan dioceses of Patna Archdiocese were present with their gift offerings for the many blessings they have received through the intercession of Mother Mary. Before each Mass, the intentions were read out with people’s names.
Mokama police provided the security and the municipality staff was also very cooperative in providing their best services throughout Saturday and Sunday.
The nine-day Novena was conducted by the suffragan diocesan priests, other religious women and men and the faithful. Mokama parishioners, priests, and the SCNs conducted the novena on Feb.3, 2018.
The hospital staff, SCN candidates, novices and the Sisters were kept busy throughout the day inside and outside the shrine, blessing the people and their offerings, stalls and leading the hymns during the main Mass. The cooperation and hard work of SCNs were well seen and appreciated by the parish priest, Baghya Raj.
Indeed it was a day of great blessings and festivity for the people.
