Emily Pugh, SCN, 91, was born in Bardstown, Kentucky. She died at Nazareth Home in Louisville, Kentucky, on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Sister Emily had been a professed Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 72 years.

From 1945-1963, Sister Emily served as a teacher in elementary education in Memphis, Tennessee; Paducah, Kentucky; Bridgeport, Ohio; Bellevue, Kentucky; and Hyde Park, Massachusetts. From 1963-1972 she served as a teacher of English, French, and history in secondary education at schools in Brockton, Massachusetts; Birmingham, Alabama; Owensboro and Louisville, Kentucky. Sister Emily also served as the director of religious education in Brockton and Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

Sister Emily is survived by her nieces, nephews, by her religious community, and by the many persons whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held at Nazareth Home in Louisville, Kentucky on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and after 4 p.m. at St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, Kentucky.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 6 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, Kentucky, followed by burial in Nazareth Cemetery.
