Mary Angela Shaughnessy, SCN, received the National Catholic Education Association President’s Award at the NCEA Gala in Washington, DC. on Oct. 2, 2017. Throughout her acceptance speech, her passion for Catholic education showed forth. During the evening attendees paid tribute to Sister Angie recalling the many positions she has held in educational institutions and recounting the meaningful ways she has educated and assisted schools around the world, especially with regard to education law. SCNs Chris Beckett and Susan Gatz were privileged to attend the banquet and ceremony and to applaud Angie for this honor, the highest award given by the NCEA.
