SCN family members are enjoying exploring the pages of a general store ledger from Samuels General Store that operated in the 1800s in Nelson County, Ky. The ledger was brought to our attention by a Samuels family member and includes notations of purchases made by Mother Catherine Spalding, the foundress of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. Among the purchases made by Mother Catherine in the 1820s, 1827 to be exact, a spool of pink thread and a scrub brush.
