Merry Christmas from Massachusetts

The Sisters from the Boston area were invited to celebrate Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas and the New Year on Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Catherine Spalding House in Brockton, Massachusetts. Those who were able to attend were greeted to a home decorated with an abundance of beauty and comradery. We were asked to bring to the gathering children’s hats, mittens, gloves or socks to be distributed to children in the Chelsea School System. All were grateful to share what we have with those who struggle to meet the New England cold.

SCNs Ann Whittaker and Anne Marie O’Shea, our gracious hostesses, cooked a delicious meal and welcomed us with lots of good cheer. We gathered for our prayer and meal and shared stories, fun and laughter as the afternoon progressed. Sister Ann said the afternoon reminded her of the days of old when we shared Christmas dinner together in large local communities. The afternoon was a delight, thanks especially to Sisters Ann and Anne Marie.
