I am saddened by the death of Sr. Mary Wedding. She taught me in the 5th and sixth grades at St. Agnes, Uniontown, Ky and as a junior at St. Vincent Academy. She attended a 150 year celebration at St. Agnes where I saw her for the first time since I was in high school. A few years later, she was invited to speak at an all school reunion of St. Vincent Academy Alumni. After that reunion, I stopped by to see Sr. Mary a few times at the Motherhouse, the last time in 2019, before COVID hit. Sr. Mary Wedding had a strong influence on me as she encouraged me to read and taught me to write, two attributes that helped throughout my career. I wanted to visit Sr. Mary during the past year but could not due to COVID restrictions. I was afraid her health had declined when she did not send a Christmas card or greeting this year. The world was a better place when Sr. Mary was with us as she positively influenced many students, I will miss her.
