Marjorie (Maggie) Fisher, SCN, 92, a native of St. Joseph, Missouri, died at Nazareth Home, Louisville on Monday, January 16, 2017. Sister made First Vows as a Religious of the Sacred Heart on March 19, 1949, and transferred to the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth on September 1, 1979.
As a Sister of Charity of Nazareth, Sister Maggie served in Social Service in Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Raymondville, Texas; as Director of Justice and Peace for the Diocese of Little Rock, Arkansas and as teacher of English in Managua, Nicaragua. Sister Maggie served in the Apostolate of Prayer at Nazareth, Kentucky since 2007.
Sister is survived by a sister, Rosemary Fisher of Miami, Florida; by a sister-in-law, also named Rosemary Fisher of Odessa, Florida, and by her religious community.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, Kentucky at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, followed by burial in Nazareth Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Nazareth Home on Monday, January 23, 2017, and after 4 p.m. in St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, Kentucky. There will be a Prayer Service in St. Vincent Church at 6:30 p.m. Monday evening.
