Take a moment to reflect on the photo.

I held my breath as we do sometimes to stop time when something wonderful has touched us…
And that is just the point… how the world, moist and beautiful, calls to each of us to make a new and serious response. That’s the big question, the one the world throws at you every morning. Here you are, alive. Would you like to make a comment?

— Mary Oliver

Hear both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor
— Pope Francis, Laudato Si’

This Lent the Ecological Sustainability Committee offers these daily reflections. These readings invite us to “Deepen our spirituality” (Directive 1) through contemplation on creation, Scripture, images, poetry and Laudato Si’. The reflections speak of a spirituality that brings us and others closer to God through the gifts and wonders of creation. That spirituality motivates us “to intensify efforts across the congregation to address the destruction of natural resources and the ecological and environmental crisis.” (Directive 4b)
