Leadership Meeting for Sisters in Bangalore
Twenty-three SCNs from various communities of Bangalore Province gathered on Dec. 29 in Chandapura for a two day Leadership meeting organized by Ongoing Formation of the Province. The opening prayer led by Ann Moyalan, SCN, prepared the Sisters with the needed spirit to enter into the day with openness. In the business session, Sisters shared the moving lived-in experiences of their communities. In the afternoon session, Ann Palatty, SCN, recalled the memories of SCNs Shalini D’Souza and Cecily Velleringatt, who reached their eternal rest in the year 2014. Later she shared with the Sisters the keynote address given by Nancy Schreck, OSF, at the LCWR meeting in August 2014. The Sisters reflected on the talk and sharing. Evening saw a meaningful communion service conducted by Rita Puthenkalam, SCN. No gathering is devoid of fun as Sisters gathered for after-supper, fun-filled recreation.
Continuing from the reflections of day 1, on the need to seek out new ways of the dictum of Vatican II to all the religious orders, the second day of the leaders’ meeting began with a moving prayer led by Anice Vattukulam, SCN. Rita Puthenkalam, SCN, then presented an enriching and informative overview of Vatican II. Vimala Rani, SCN, treasurer of the Bangalore Province shared with Sisters information from the finance office. Ann Palatty, SCN provincial of Bangalore Province, shared news updates from the Province. The two-day meet ended on a note of thanks to SCNs Rita Puthenkalam and Ann Moyalan, the organizers of this event.
