On Sunday, March 17 60 Minutes will air a segment on LCWR and CDF doctrinal assessment. CBS describes the segment in this way: “One of the pressing problems newly elected Pope Francis may want to address is the disillusionment among American nuns. Many were shocked last year when the group that represents most of them was reprimanded by the Vatican, which said the nuns’ liberal ideas were undermining the Church. Bob Simon reports. Tanya Simon and Andrew Metz are the producers.” This program has been in process since June 2012, and the two producers attended parts of the 2012 LCWR assembly. Pat Farrell, OSF was interviewed for the program in November 2012.

An interview with Pat by Rachel Martin will also air on NPR’s Weekend Edition this Sunday. Weekend Edition normally airs from 8:00 – 10:00 AM,  but you may wish to check your local listing.

LCWR member Jennifer Gaeta, a member of the leadership team of the Sisters of Social Service in Encino, California, was interviewed by Maria Shriver moments after the election of the pope. Her interview is slated for NBC’s Today show on either Monday, March 18 or Tuesday, March 19.

If you did not get to see Florence Deacon, OSF on CBS This Morning on March 11, here is a link to that segment: http://feeds.cbsnews.com/~r/CBSNewsVideo/~3/uuL-d3amLIE/. Florence was also interviewed twice for BBC Radio. Florence was also selected by the British daily newspaper The Guardian to share her hopes for a new pope: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/mar/11/catholics-worldwide-hopes-pope-interviews.
