To celebrate the golden and the silver jubilee of Sisters Sunita Vayalipara and Salomi Linda at Navjyoti School, Dharan on June 30, 2019, 19 Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, 11 other religious sisters, Most Rev. Bishop Paul Simick of Nepal, 11 priests, a deacon, and over 200 parishioners came together.
Bishop Simick concelebrated the Eucharist with eight priests. The Mass began with a liturgical entrance dance by the students of Navjyoti School. Sister Ann George Mukalel and the jubilarians carrying a bible and burning lambs processed to the altar along with the celebrants. The theme, “Give thanks to the Lord, for God’s love endures forever.” (1 Cor. 16.34) was well highlighted through the decorations, liturgy and the program. At the end of the Mass, the jubilarians took photos with the celebrants, Sisters and the participants.
After the Mass, people were provided with refreshments before the cultural program. The program was anchored by Sister Ringemit Lepcha. During the program Sisters Sunita and Salomi were felicitated and they cut the jubilee cake. All enjoyed a festive meal prepared by the non-teaching staff of the school. It was a day of thanksgiving and rejoicing for the past 25 and 50 years of God’s faithfulness in the lives of our Sisters Sunita and Salomi!
