International Women’s Day

Community Health Centre/ORP Bakhtiarpur celebrated International women’s Day. Around 300 women gathered. The theme for celebration was “to demand for the qualitative education for children, safety and protection of women from violence.” Women took the “Oath” to work on these two issues in collaboration with government officials. This oath paper will be given to all government officials by a few representatives of women. On the occasion, women watched a Hindi film “Andhaa Kaanon.” This showed the challenges and problems of women in past and present and the empowerment of women. Laws are made and available, but in reality it does not provide the dignity and justice to certain groups of people. The message is to “stand for the truth.” Also women expressed their joy by singing awareness songs and dancing.
