International Women’s Day Celebrations at Shapur

“Navjyoti joined with the anti-alcohol program of the government of Bihar to celebrate the women’s day program on March 8. The women from Self Help Groups, Kishori (adolescent girls), Navjyoti school students put up various programs to make the people aware of the bad effects of alcohol, child marriage, need for education and gender equality. The district magistrate of Madhepura sent a nuked group to perform a play on ‘Alcohol Free’ Bihar. Mrs. Indra Devi, district council member, Father Vijay Tudu, parish priest of Shapur church, district program officer and Sister Leena SCN spoke on the same topic.” —Lilly Thomas, SCN
