International Women’s Day celebrations at Mandair
Sisters and collaborators celebrated the International Women’s Day on March 13, 2016 at Mandair. Women and men from different castes and religious backgrounds came together to plan for the celebrations. They decorated the place a week in advance. Around 3,000 women, children and men came in procession with music, dances, songs and slogans from all directions. The joy and the enthusiasm of the people made the venue a place of carnival.
Invited guests gave touching speeches to encourage women to come forward to build the nation. They highlighted that the power of women is a great power that can change families and society at large.
Different groups presented a variety of cultural programs to entertain the audience and to showcase the rich Indian culture to pass on to the next generation. It was a red letter day of the year for Mandair mission. Sister Prabha Tirkey congratulates the committee for their hard work behind the scenes to make the day successful one.
