On January 16, during Human Trafficking Awareness Month, Barbara Joseph Lammers, SCN, gave a presentation on human trafficking to the Community Collaboration for Children Program – part of the Central Kentucky Community Action Council. Their program provides everything from helping to obtain housing and improving household management to improving parenting skills and improving communication between parents and children as well as working with parents and schools to develop child sexual abuse training. Several who attended the program felt they had seen trafficking of children and now felt more confident to report it. In the United States all suspected trafficking of children, anyone under 18 years, must be reported. Call 1-888-373-7888.
