Faces of hope. We see them every day at Doors to Hope, our ministry for women and immigrant families. Each one has a unique story. The common element is the desire and determination to make a better life for themselves and their families.

Three years ago, Esperanza came to Doors to Hope seeking help. She felt desperate. Her children were struggling in school and she lacked the English and educational skills to help them. She and her children started receiving services from Doors to Hope. While they were improving their English skills and their grades, Esperanza also began to attend classes.

Esperanza can now communicate better at work and with her children’s teachers. She is working to earn her GED and her self-confidence has blossomed. Her children are getting good grades. For Esperanza’s family, Doors to Hope is the most important place in the city after her home and work.

Esperanza’s story is wonderful, but it is not unique. It is emblematic of the hundreds of families that have found support, training, and empowerment at Doors to Hope.
