Homeboy Industries is a youth program founded in 1992 by Father Greg Boyle, S.J. following the work of the Christian base communities at Dolores Mission Church. They provide training and support to high-risk, formerly gang-involved, young men and women in Los Angeles. Homeboy Industries along with Father Greg were in Louisville, Kentucky, on Aug. 6, 2018.

Sister Eva Kowalski was the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth representative who participated in a meal with other sponsor reps before the program. Sisters Julie Driscoll, Carlette Gentle, Liz Wendeln, and Joetta Venneman shared in the program of personal transformation stories.

The theme, “Love > Fear: Cultivating Kinship in Louisville” was set in the values of engaged compassion and lived nonviolence. Wisdom from their experiences flowed in abundance.
