Health Camp Conducted at Sangsay Busty, Kalimpong

Nazareth Health Center, Sangsay, conducted a health camp at Sangsay Busty, Kalimpong on May 15, 2014 The various visiting doctors specialized in medicine, optometry, and obstetrics, examined and treated 214 patients. Eleven of the female patients were counseled on prevention of communicable disease like HIV.

Thirty three senior citizens of the area enrolled their names for old age pension sponsored by the state government during the camp. They received a senior citizen treatment card with which they could avail free treatment in any government hospital. This surprise package brought a broad smile on the faces of the old people.

It was indeed a life giving experience for all of us as it provided the opportunity for people to consult different doctors for their various sicknesses. They have no other access to proper health care facilities. People of the village took advantage of this health camp and came in big numbers to get treatment and consult doctors.

God’s special blessing was on each and every one of us on this special day as everything went as per the plan. The poor people were very grateful to Deena Vazhaparampil, SCN, and her team who organized the camp with the help of the local government hospital.
