The community of Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Kallanode, under the guidance of Sister Sheela Palamoottil, organized the monthly gathering of senior citizens of Kallanode Parish on Aug. 12, 2019, at the parish school. The 35 participants were treated to an enlightening day of sessions on the theme, “To remain healthy in body, mind, and spirit, individually, in family and in society.”

Sister Ann Moyalan, the resource person, demonstrated various simple bodily exercises, acupressure, and helped the members to practice them. She also talked about the importance of proper nutrition at proper times and the importance of drinking at least two liters of water daily and how and when to drink it in order to be effective. Sister Ann also demonstrated various herbal medicinal plants and explained how they can be used for various physical ailments. Sister also stressed on the need for spiritual healing in order to remain fully healthy. A healthy and educative interaction among the participants gave a fitting conclusion to the day’s program.
