Graduating class from Arunodaya in Patna

Thirteen young women from Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Uttar Pradesh and Nepal graduated from the women’s training center, Arunodaya, in Patna, on April 22, 2017. It’s a landmark achievement for these young women to have successfully completed the ten-month social work and office management courses in the year 2016-2017. The trainees put up an entertaining and meaningful program befitting the occasion depicting their transformation such as growth in self-confidence, knowledge, talents, and skills with ease. They brought out the present conditions of women in family and society leading to the evil practices of human trafficking. They highlighted the importance of empowerment of women to live with dignity and freedom. It was indeed a proud moment for all of us present especially Teresa Madassery, SCN, director of Arunodaya and her staff.

Rev. Jose Chirackal, Parish Priest of Chakarram, was the chief guest for this auspicious occasion. The presence and encouragement of the Sisters from SCN Provincial House, CIC Sisters, our close by neighbors, priests from the parish, some of the resources persons, guardians and our well-wishers is gratefully and joyfully appreciated by Arunodaya Community and our graduates. Sister Arpita Mundamattam, the future director of Arunodaya, was welcomed during this program with a bouquet of flowers.
