The members of steering committee along with CLT and chairs/representatives of various subcommittees met at the venue for GA 2018 for a day-long meeting to review and update preparations.
The General Assembly Steering Committee continues to meet in Chandapura. We had a very profitable meeting on Saturday with someone from each of the sub-committees. We met at the Don Bosco Skill Center where the Assembly will be held. We toured the building and each sub-committee member shared the plans and any questions they had. We had an opportunity to meet with Fr. Antree, the Salesian priest who is the director of the center. He and his staff were very helpful and accommodating. All at the meeting left feeling good about the space- which will become our holy ground for the Assembly.
The Steering Committee is most grateful for all the good thinking that went into the December and February responses. We have carefully and prayerfully gone through them to pull out suggestions about what meaningful conversations we long to have at the Assembly. Continue to pray with and for us.
We offer this section from our morning prayer created by S. Denise:
What will we bring to birth in this General Assembly?
A vision of our future together, change in our government structures, new mission experiences, joyful, vibrant community, deepened contemplative prayer life, forging relationships within our Charism family.
Holy the women who help this to happen. Blessed are we when we give birth to the Word made flesh in us.
