In Bethel, the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth novitiate celebrated its “Tin Year” of foundation on July 18, 2021, with gratitude and gladness. It was indeed an opportune moment to create a platform for the novices to reflect the providence of God in the past and gratefully remembered those who helped them shape their lives in a community of mission. On the eve of the foundation day, a meaningful prayer service was conducted by Mamta Tete, a second-year novice, recalling and acknowledging the wonders God has done for all the Bethelites past and present. All were remembered and prayed for during the Sunday Liturgy and the wishes and blessings kept coming from near and dear ones all through the day.

One of the Chinese proverbs says, “To get through the toughest journey we need to undertake one step at a time; however we must keep on moving forward.”

The “Tin Year” celebration included a table of fellowship and a cultural program where all the Sisters and Fathers of the campus were cordially welcomed and served a sumptuous meal prepared by the novices. The novices left no stone unturned to put in practice the Charisms of the Charity; the legacy handed down the years by the pioneers of our mission on this auspicious day.

The day was marked with a beautiful cultural program consisting of a one-act play in English titled, “The Pilgrim”; and mind-blowing traditional singing and dances prepared in a short duration of time by the novices. After a long gap, the candidates’ dining hall in Nazareth Convent, Mokama, was decked with the perfect ambiance to set the stage on fire. A lovely performance of the novices mesmerized the audience and left them thunderstruck. The Bethelities were full of praise and appreciation for their hard work, team spirit, and lively presentations. God Bless Bethel!
